Concentrate Thickener MINERA COLLAHUASI

Collahuasi is a mining company dedicated to the extraction and production of copper concentrate and molybdenum concentrate.

Its production levels, together with its mineral resources, size and location, make it one of the six largest copper producers in the world and the second largest in Chile. It has one of the largest copper deposits in the world, with 10,380 million tonnes.

The rake is the element of the thickener formed by rods and is attached to the main shaft, its function is to move the load of solids to the bottom of the tank and prevent this load from settling too much and not being able to be discharged. This manoeuvre generates wear and abrasion by friction to the surface.

On this occasion our ACE PU-100 protection system based on pure aromatic polyurea acts as a surface protector to prevent wear and tear and also helps to facilitate cleaning during scheduled maintenance work. With a simple jet of water not at very high pressure we manage to clean the surface, restoring all the operability to the mechanical elements that must act without overexertion and we avoid the undue dragging of stuck accumulations.

Maintenance work on this type of structure is usually carried out in a very short period of time. The ACE PU-100 system, as it is a continuous sheet without joints or reliefs of any kind, helps to carry out the cleaning or surface re-surfacing very quickly.
